Description: This Fire District Emergency Service Boundary Data Product provides boundary information in Campbell County, KY. This data is stored, maintained, and edited as polygon geometry. The Fire District Emergency Service Boundary layer defines the geographic area for the primary providers of police response services. This Data Product is used by the ECRF to perform a geographic query to determine which Emergency Service Providers are responsible for providing police service to a location in the event a selective transfer is desired, to direct an Emergency Incident Data Document to a secondary PSAP for dispatch, or to display the responsible agencies at the PSAP. In addition, Fire Emergency Service Boundaries are used by PSAPs to identify the appropriate entities/first responders to be dispatched. The Fire District Emergency Service Boundary layer may contain one or more polygon boundaries that define the primary police emergency services for that geographic area. The Fire District Emergency Service Boundary layer information is updated continuously. This Data Product also supports the NENA Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) Core Services (NGCS) implementation guide. This Data Product is designed to support location validation and routing, both geospatial call routing or to the appropriate agency for dispatch. This Data Product is one of several GIS data layers (layers) used in local Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) and response agency mapping applications for handling and responding to 9-1-1 calls. This Data Product is one of the Required and/or Strongly Recommended layers which are utilized by the Emergency Call Routing Function (ECRF) and the Location Validation Function (LVF) and can be used by other public safety functions. This Data Product schema is primarily based on the “NENA Standard for NG9-1-1 GIS Data Model” document (NENA-STA-006.1.1-2020, DSC Approval: 02/18/2020).
