This data set contains Land Use Data for Kenton County, Kentucky as of spring 2018. Land Use data refers to data that is a result of classifying raw satellite imagery into use categories based on the return value of the satellite image. Land Use classifications may also be determined using property ownership data sets and other external data sources. The land use dataset will classify the land area by land parcel into 10 distinct types of land use: water, residential, commercial, industrial, transportation, recreation, institutional, vacant, mining and agriculture. These land use classes will contain sub-classes to further categorize the use on the parcel. Any parcel that exceeds the threshold of 5 acres or more will be further delineated with a three-acre home site (allowing 1.5 acres for septic system and 1.5 for home and yard respectfully) with additional polygons representing further existing land use such as crop, forest and wetlands, etcetera. Water features that equal 1 acre of more will meet the threshold to be categorized. |
